Bad Robot Artist of the Day: Patrick Tresset's pet robot artist, Paul, can scan your face and draw a portrait of you, but there's a catch.

Instead of the precision draftsmanship you'd expect from a robot, Paul creates (intentionally) flawed drawings. The effect was created by using cheap, wonky servos instead of the top-of-the-line industrial stuff.

To show off the process, Patrick took this video of Paul drawing him. Turns out that this "bad" robot artist does a much better job than most humans you're likely to find.
