Naoko Ito's use of jars in her "Urban Nature" series provides an interesting point of departure for my cricket piece. Although still using the jars for their original purpose to contain, she- 1. contains items that are not usually contained in those jars: tree branches, 2. "breaks" through the jar by providing a line of continuity that extends through jars using the implied line of the tree branch.
Also of note are a few of the other elements she's incorporated into her sculptural presentation.
