"Death of Computer Arts" response

Lee Manovich compares/contrasts two spaces-

Duchamp-land (contemporary arts)
- oriented towards content
- "complicated" - multitude of cultural codes and "post-modern" ironic attitude
- ironic, self-referential, often destrcutive attitude towards its material

Turing-land (computer arts)
- orientation towards new, state-of-the art technology, rather than content
- "simple" - usually lacking irony
- takes the technology which it uses seriously

I found the ending comments to almost negate the entire article.
